Coumba Samba’s artist book appears on the occasion of her exhibitions deutschland at Kunstverein in Hamburg and 1100-651 Lisboa at Lumiar Cité, Lisbon. Taking the form of a colouring book, it extends Samba’s ongoing investigation into the political and affective charge of forms, materials, and colours, as well as their circulation within globalised infrastructure, systems of production, and visual economies.

Samba’s publication invites readers to explore geometric forms with a set of colour pencils. Through these simple materials, interaction and experimentation continually unsettle the relationship between colour, abstraction, and internalised systems of form.

Coumba Sambas Künstler:innenbuch erscheint anlässlich ihrer Ausstellungen deutschland im Kunstverein in Hamburg und 1100-651 Lisboa im Lumiar Cité, Lissabon. In Form eines Malbuchs erweitert es Sambas fortlaufende Untersuchung der politischen und affektiven Aufladung von Formen, Materialien und Farben sowie ihrer Zirkulation innerhalb globalisierter Infrastrukturen, Produktionssysteme und visueller Ökonomien.
